Janet rekindled an interest in all things creative following a serious illness, she thought if she didn’t start doing something she had always wanted to do she may miss the opportunity. Reducing her work hours, she undertook a BTEC in art. Whilst working in a class full of 16 year olds and successfully completed 3D design and textiles with distinction. This is where she discovered printmaking with Dale Devereux Barker at West Dean College with etching, collagraph and linocut becoming her preferred media. Janet takes inspiration from forms and shapes in the natural world extending into patterns in architecture and old encyclopaedias when needing additional inspiration.

Janet’s’ book art stems from a desire to recycle rather than send to landfill, using old electrical cables and card being a few examples.

She has exhibited in Chichester and Worcestershire Open Studios 3 times now. She has currently been accepted to exhibit at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair in November 2019, which she is looking forward to attending.
